While their country faced takeover by Napoleon’s armies, the Brothers Grimm reached far back in time, seeking the voice and soul of their nation. What they found were folktales — strange, terrifying, and deeply human.

As the Romantic movement swept through art and literature, the Grimms offered the world stories that explored the darker, unfiltered corners of the human mind.

Storyteller Tom Lee brings the Grimms’ tales to life in a witty, relaxed, and sophisticated style, revealing the humanity — and unsettling beauty — at their core.

Tom Lee is an adjunct professor at the University of Hartford. His performances have been featured on BBC Television, NPR, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and NASA.
